The 14th annual Schoharie Watershed Summit will take place at the Windham Mountain Resort on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 from 9:00am-2:30pm. Come early! Doors open at 8:00am for sign-ins, networking, and morning refreshments.
This year's summit is focused on Invasive Species in the Schoharie Reservoir Watershed. This year's morning presentations will teach the audience about invasive species common to this region, what species to be on the lookout for, and the invasive species management work that is currently being done in the region.
Venue Information: This year's summit will take place at the Windham Mountain Resort (19 Resort Drive, Windham, NY 12496). Parking is available in the top lot. The sign-in table and event rooms will be located on the 3rd floor of the base lodge. Elevators are available.

The Beauty of Survival: An Introduction to Reptiles and Amphibians

This is an introduction to reptiles and amphibians, with an emphasis on the Catskill Mountains. Through photos and biofacts (skins, shells and skeletons), we will explore the natural history and some survival strategies of these incredible, but often misunderstood and feared animals. Our presenter is Russ Walker, retired teacher at the Houston ISD Outdoor Education Center. He has a BS in Biology and Environmental Science and is co-founder East Texas Herpetological Society with a lifelong interest and passion for all wildlife.
This is a Schoharie Watershed Weekend event in partnership with the Mountain Top Arboretum. The Schoharie Watershed Weekends are organized by the Schoharie Watershed Stream Management Program at the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District.

Streamside Photography Walk at the Windham Path

Meet at the Route 23 parking area for the Windham Path
Windham, NY 12496
You are registered for a guided photography walk with Francis X. Driscoll at the Windham Path. Fran will show how he has gotten some of his award-winning shots through demonstrations on camera settings, composition, exposure, depth of field, etc. There will be an emphasis on enjoying and capturing the beauty of the area. All camera types, including cell phones and tablets, are welcome. Participants will meet at the Route 23 parking area for the Windham Path at 9:00am.
This is an outdoor photography walk that involves walking on an easy loop trail for approximately 1.5 miles. Attendees should dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and bring a filled water bottle and snacks as needed.
Participants at this event must follow current health guidelines for COVID-19. Participants must maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from individuals from different households. Masks or face coverings that cover the nose and mouth will be required for all participants whenever the group is stopped for discussion as well as whenever social distancing cannot be maintained. Participants must bring their own cameras. There will be no sharing of equipment or other materials between individuals from different households.
In the event of rain or other inclement weather, this event will be postponed until Sunday, October 4, and registered attendees will be notified by e-mail.
